Over President’s Day weekend, Chambre de Sucre hosted a launch event with a casual Afternoon Tea. Thank you to everyone that came, it was lovely meeting all of you! If you weren’t at the launch event, don’t fret. I, the Chambre de Sucre Intern (whom some of you might have met) will give an insider look at the day’s events.
The Chambre de Sucre team woke up bright and early for setup - Fresh flowers were arranged. Mini cupcakes from Two Little Red Hens. Place cards and party favor details. And plenty of furniture rearrangement! We were antsy for the arrival of Kyotofu...somewhat stressful, but you know, we manage. When the clock struck one, guests started to arrive. Showtime!
We welcomed everyone with an invitation to step upstairs to the main party space...

Of course, we exhibited our recently released line of sugars: The I Heart Coffee & A Café in Paris gift set that consists of tubes of sugar bombs, stars, flat hearts, pyramids, and our Sucre Pierre in a brown and white color scheme as well as our Mini Hearts in yellow, blue, pink, green, and purple, now available separately.
In addition to our newest sugars, our guests were one of the first group of people to sample three tea blends—Honeybell Orange Blossom, Positively Peach, and Raspberry Rose Petal. Don’t worry; we’ll be launching our line of teas by fall. Plenty of time for you to decide which flavor you want to try first.
We also previewed the latest prototypes of some cleverly designed sugars, shaped to hang off champagne glasses. (We’ve got so much new stuff, how can you not be excited?!)
To complement prosecco and tea, we served petite nibbles catered by Kyotofu and Two Little Red Hens. Our menu consisted of Shiitake & Parmesan Mini Quiche, Kyotofu Mini Mac & Cheese, Tsukune Chicken Meatballs, Pigs in a “Duvet,” Sake braised Pork Belly Skewers, Housemade Sweet Potato Chips, and Shortbread Cookies.
My favorites were the Genmai & Green Tea Financiers and the Mini Chocolate Miso Cake. The Key Lime Cupcakes and Peanut Butter-Fudge Cupcakes came from TLRH. We also had some Cranberry Orange Scones with Strawberry Preserves and Devonshire Cream. As you can tell, I’ve got a sweet tooth to satisfy.
Everyone seemed to have a good time, especially with the sweet aroma of our Raspberry Rose Petal tea in the air.
Our guests mingled, our guests laughed. Our guests took pictures...
...and everyone left with a goodie bag, made by yours truly.
