When Labor Day comes around this year, I won't be too disappointed. Usually it marks the end of summer; relaxation and fun times with friends. It's been so busy this year that I haven't had too much time to have all that much fun! OK. That's not entirely true. Besides, work and life will be taking me back to my home in Hawaii this October so there will be plenty of fun to be had. More afternoon teas at the Moana Surfrider (as seen above) and even a trip to a tea and coffee plantation on the Big Island.
The World Tea Expo in Las Vegas truly marked the beginning of Summer for me this year. Oh, it's a tea lover's dream to attend the WTE. You taste a million different teas, meet other tea enthusiasts and learn A LOT about everything in a short period of time. You can attend seminars, tea tastings, meet tea experts...it's absolute heaven.
Luckily, there will be a World Tea East which will take place in Philadelphia at the Pennsylvania Convention Center the first week of October so it'll be a great way to kick off the Fall before my trip. More bliss...
The educational conference series is also quite impressive. Those classes that used to only be available during the West Expo are now coming to the East Expo. Some topics include new business boot camp, world origin tasting tour, marketing & business development, and in-depth cuppings.
Here's some highlights from Las Vegas:
Dreaming of Paris...
Having breakfast at Bouchon at The Venetian
Best oatmeal EVER
Adorable signs they had on the way to the Convention Center from the Las Vegas Hotel...
And back to tea...classes with The Specialty Tea Institute, which I highly recommend. You meet great people and have a lot of fun (and of course, you learn a lot).
I hope you all have a lovely and safe Labor Day weekend! Remember that it only marks the beginning of yet another amazing season. Fashion Night Out begins on Thursday, September 6th so that should be a lot of fun! I will be armed with a proper camera by then.
