I don't have kids yet, but my brother has the most amazing little girl. I'm sure you know all about her if you're familiar with this blog at all. Her name is Clarissa Mathilda and she is 4 years old. I also named one of my teas after her.
I imagine it is a super stressful time for both children and parents as they head back to school. Let's not forget about teachers! I find that a nice cup of tea really helps to calm me down and reduce the stress. When push comes to shove and I've got deadlines to meet, I'm always reaching for that cup of coffee.
Well, summer is over which means I won't get to see Clarissa as often as I would like. School is back in session which means no more pretend tea parties and running through the sprinklers at our local park. No more teacups at Coney Island or trips to the beach (at least not Coney island's).
All I can do is prepare myself as an auntie and let her go have her adventures because there are so many to be had. She'll be starting Pre-K after Labor Day and as excited as I am for her, I am sad because she's growing up so quickly.
Dr. Seuss says it best and I dedicate these words to you, Clarissa.
“You're off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting,
So... get on your way!”
Hope EVERYONE has a great first day at school!
