Planning A Vintage Themed Tea Party with This Week's Book of the Week

For those of you looking for step-by-step instructions for hosting a vintage themed tea party, look no further. This book will be perfect for you. It's filled with costume, makeup, hairstyling, invitation, decoration and menu ideas. I loved it the moment I received my copy in the mail. The Vintage Tea Party Book: A Complete Guide to Hosting your Perfect Party by Angel Adoree is a real gem.

Whimsical illustrations draw you in immediately. I love how she shares personal photos in the first few pages of the book. Really helps connect with the author.

Love that the recipes aren't the same old familiar ones like mushroom tartlets blah blah blah....They also have great names, which always catches my attention. I find them amazingly inventive yet simple enough for an amateur cook like myself to make at home for guests. Coddled Eggs, King Scallops with Crispy Black Pudding, Potted Prawns Sprinkled with Pork Scratchings...

Bloody Mary Shots, Rosie Lee Loves Her Tea, Green Tea and Pear Cocktail...

Illustrated invitation templates, makeup tips, sewing the perfect little apron, table settings...

There are also whimsical illustrations throughout the book. Just picture foxes, rabbits, teapots, ribbons...oh so lovely and oh so very English. I can't wait for her next book, Vintage Tea Party Year, which is due out any day now! The Vintage Patisserie is due to open in 2012 in East London. The photos from the gallery are so beautiful.

I give the book 5 Teacups way up!

Have a great weekend!
