Friday was mom's birthday. That evening my brother, Clarissa, Sergiy and I took her out to eat ramen at Hide-Chan Ramen (one of her all time favorite things to eat). I made arrangements for a huge bouquet of flowers to arrive at her salon earlier that day. Even though she always insists we not send her flowers, I know deep down she loves them.
Dad is in Japan right now for the semiconductor show so it's my job to keep the birthday festivities going. Mom and I did some major shopping yesterday. Thanks, dad!
Off to Hide-Chan Ramen...
These guys are like two peas in a pod!
My brother orders something I've never had before...Gyoza with cheese. ~IT WAS SO YUMMY~
Hakata Char Siu Ramen- broth is super thick and creamy! Hakata is in Fukuoka, which is where my dad is from, so we're all used to this kind of ramen, but this stuff was artery clogging (and super salty). To be fair, ramen is salty. You used to be able to choose the firmness of the noodles and the thickness of your broth, but our waiter didn't ask us for our preferences. It was still super delicious. The noodles were firm and served al dente. We couldn't take home our leftovers because they don't do that at Hide-Chan so I gave my leftovers to Sergiy. That was a bit of a bummer, for me not him.
Hakata Kuro Ramen
Mochi Ice Cream- Green Tea
We all had a great evening and mom enjoyed all her gifts. Clarissa made us all laugh and smile just as she always does...
