Remembering Christmas Day

Posted on December 27, 2012 by LISA KUNIZAKI | 0 Comments

Christmas this year was a little bittersweet for me. Sergiy and I spent the entire morning relaxing on the couch and going over his checklist. Then we went over to my parents' home to eat some leftovers. After lunch it was time to drop him off at the airport. He's off for Ukraine and will be gone till mid-January. No one to tease or play chess with for a good two weeks.

Sandwich prep began with the muffuletta olive mix...

pork shoulder from Christmas Eve...

homemade hot sauce...

finished off with mom's marinated red onions.

Grandma's little helper made cheese + scallion empanadas...

and topped it off with some powdered sugar.

Then mom + Clarissa made some strawberry and pineapple smoothies with the leftover fruit we had for dessert the night before..

and we drank them through cute pink and green straws.

Clarissa kept me company and it was the best Christmas ever!

I feel so very blessed to have such wonderful people in my life.
