Abattoir | Enchanting Dinner in Atlanta

I was in Atlanta, Georgia for the first time while attending World Tea East in October of this year. It was so exciting because I managed to squeeze in visits to the Coca Cola Museum, the Georgia Aquarium and of course a few amazing restaurants. But, there was one in particular I was especially looking forward to. 

How can someone ignore a sign like this?

So, there's a hint. And under this bridge are some railroad tracks. I'm told this used to be the old meatpacking district and it looks nothing like it did ten years ago. 

They have some high end shops in case you feel like shopping before eating.

and beautiful rustic wooden tables.

So warm and inviting...

 

 Grilled frisee, dried cherries, asian pear, ham powder

Chicken liver toast, onion jelly, porch herbs

Each bite was so delicious!

Grilled chorizo octopus, confit potatoes, olive sauce

Kumamoto oysters half shell, champagne mignonette

Beef tartare, olives, anchovies, egg yolk

and for dessert...vanilla panna cotta, scuppernongs, cactus sorbet

It was an incredible meal and it did not disappoint. The service was also A+.

I made sure to pick up my signed copy of Chef Anne Stiles Quatrano's Summerland. I had the pleasure of running into and chatting with her husband, Clifford. Overall, my visit to Atlanta was a huge success. I can't wait to return.
